James Brown is known as the "Godfather of Soul". He has many popular soul and funk songs from the 50s to the 70s. This collection has 20 of his songs. My favorite 60s songs are "I Got You (I Feel Good)", "I Got the Feelin'", "Mother Popcorn (Part 1)", "Think", and "Cold Sweat". The 70s songs "(Get Up I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine, Pt. 1", "The Payback", and "Super Bad (Parts 1 & 2)".

The Beatles Anthology 1 collection covers the years 1958 to 1964, including when they were The Quarrymen. It includes rare songs, outtakes, live versions of songs from shows, and some small interviews in between some songs. Dean Martin is one of my favorite singers, along with Frank Sinatra. This collection has many of his hits from the 40s to the 60s. Some of my favorite songs are "Powder Your Face with Sunshine (Smile! Smile! Smile!)", "Mambo Italiano", "Memories Are Made of This", "Sway", "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody", "Somewhere There's a Someone", and "The Door Is Still Open to My Heart".

Ben E. King is a popular R&B 50s and 60s singer. This collection has his solo songs and songs he did with The Drifters. Some of my favorites are "Stand By Me", "Amor", "Spanish Harlem", "I (Who Have Nothing)", "How Can I Forget", and "Young Boy Blues". Some songs he did with The Drifters are "This Magic Moment", "There Goes My Baby", "Save the Last Dance for Me", and "I Count the Tears".

The Five Satins are a 50s doo-wop group. "In the Still of the Night" is my favorite song along with the up-tempo "The Jones Girl". Other songs here are "Wonderful Girl", "Oh Happy Day", "Our Anniversary", "A Million to One", "A Night to Remember", "I’ll Be Seeing You", "Candlelight", and "Wishing Ring".

The Crests were a doo-wop group from the late 50s and early 60s. Johnny Maestro was lead vocalist and his voice is easily recognizable on songs. My favorites are "Sixteen Candles" and "The Angels Listened In". This collection has many of Bing Crosby's songs from the 20s to the 50s. A good 20s song is "Ol' Man River". Songs from the 30s I like are "Where the Blue of the Night (Meets the Gold of the Day)", "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby", and "Home On the Range. The 40s songs "White Christmas", "Sunday, Monday or Always", "Swinging on a Star", and "It's Been a Long, Long Time".
